IMPROVED economic fundamentals have helped bolster global emerging-market debt funds, according to Standard & Poor's.
Its data shows the median fund for global emerging-market debt funds denominated in dollars was up 5.3 per cent, for the three months to the end of January. Their euro-dominated counterparts rose 2.4 per cent.
The statistics cover funds available to investors in the UK and mainland Europe.
S&P said improved economic fundamentals in many countries had helped push up credit ratings and that, in a low interest rate environment, more investors had turned to the sector in search of good returns.
