Feb. 16--From roadside restaurants to department stores, Jay Jay the Jet Plane is taking aim at new markets.
Increased sales of the Jay Jay toys -- based on the PBS television show for preschoolers about a talking airplane -- are credited for sparking a turnaround at Orlando-based toy maker Action Products International Inc.
Action Products, which makes educational and nonviolent toys, said last month that it expects to report a 28 percent increase in 2003 sales, and a 19 percent gain in the fourth quarter, ended Dec. 31. The company will release its earnings in March.
