CHICAGO _ If you tell Lynne Cox to go jump in the lake, she just might do it. Regardless of temperature or season. When others shiver, she strokes. When others cringe, she dares.
Cox stood in the snow on the Lake Michigan sea wall at the North Avenue Beach on a cold late January day. She wore a parka over a zip-up, sweatsuit-type top over . . . what exactly?
"This sure beats being in a swimsuit," she said.
