Feb. 4--C.F. Martin and Co. will move production of its lower-priced DXM line of guitars to Mexico, but there will be no impact on local employment, Chief Executive Officer Chris Martin IV said Tuesday.
The company has been making Backpacker travel guitars and guitar strings in Mexico.
"We've had relations with a sister company in Mexico for 10 years," Chris Martin said. "We have appreciated the quality of the products and the coworkers. They're not a third party, they're one of us."
The company plans to maintain employment at its Upper Nazareth Township plant at about 600 people, Chris Martin said.
