Article: Vietnamese Merchants Prepare Way for Little Saigon Sign in Santa Ana, Calif.

Feb. 5--Vietnamese merchants broke ground Wednesday on a controversial Little Saigon sign in west Santa Ana that will be unveiled Feb. 21.

Neighbors fought the sign but agreed to a compromise, which moved the sign to First and Euclid streets and dropped the Vietnamese language.

"After months of negotiation and compromise, we just want to promote Little Saigon," organizer Ken Nguyen said.
