Jan. 9--Live Oak wants to retain its small-town quality as it grows, city officials said Thursday night.
"The analogy I use is this town is going to grow whether any of us want it to or not," said Councilman Charlie Eggert. "It's important we all have a say."
But Eggert said he doesn't want Live Oak to turn into another Lincoln.
"It's exploded, and you can't even drive through town," he said of the expanding Placer County city.
Live Oak "should have some say in that growth and control it before it gets totally out of control," Eggert said.
