Jan. 6--OGDEN, Utah -- The staff of six full-time employees at Union Station was trimmed back to two Monday in an effort to save the city about $450,000 over the next 18 months.
Employees dropped from the payroll include Union Station Museum coordinator Jeannie Young, administrative assistant Mavis Hawley and maintenance workers Lyle Johnson and Alma Madrigal. Johnson had been with the station for 10 years.
Remaining are Union Station Director Bob Geier and maintenance worker Tyson Young.
Mayor Matthew Godfrey said the city subsidizes Union Station to the tune of $350,000 to $500,000 each year. And a recent ...
