Jan. 2--PROVIDENCE, R.I.--The Rhode Island Supreme Court has refused to stay a trial on whether two media outlets should be held in criminal contempt for publishing and broadcasting photos of witnesses who testified against Charles "Manny" Pona, who was found guilty in November of murder in the death of 15-year-old Jennifer Rivera.
The high court, in an order entered Dec. 15, said it was denying the motion of The Providence Journal and Channel 6 (WLNE) to postpone the contempt trial because it "is premature."
