Jan. 1--NEW KNOXVILLE, Ohio--An investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration that followed the deadly silo explosion at Hoge Lumber Co. in October cited several safety violations, but none directly related to the explosion.

OSHA investigators conducted an overall safety inspection of the lumber company following the Oct. 1 explosion that killed two New Bremen firefighters. The purpose of the investigation was a safety inspection, not to further investigate the explosion, which was the job of the state Fire Marshal's Office, said Richard Tracy, an assistant area director for OSHA.
