JOHANNESBURG, South Africa _ Since the end of apartheid nearly a decade ago, South Africa has spread economic tentacles across the African continent. South African companies now offer cell phone service in Nigeria, supermarkets in Zambia, fast food in Rwanda and airline seats in the Ivory Coast.
That economic dominance hasn't always sat well with South Africa's neighbors, particularly Nigeria, the continent's most populous country and South Africa's main challenger to political and economic supremacy on the continent.
