CHICAGO _ DePaul officials are mum, refusing any kind of comment. But the Big East, which recently lost Miami and Virginia Tech to the Atlantic Coast Conference, appears ready to raid Conference USA and invite the Blue Demons to join its ranks.
Also in the Big East's sights are Marquette, Cincinnati and Louisville, whose additions (along with DePaul) would transform it into a 16-team league divided equally between basketball-only schools and schools that play basketball and football.
