Television has vintages just like wine, and Sunday's (Sept. 28) two new, big-deal dramas _ watchable, but not compelling _ symbolize 2003's production.
It's an above-average season with virtually no blockbusters. Yet many shows, including Sunday's "Cold Case," set in Philadelphia, and "The Lyon's Den," may find strong enough audiences to last for years. Also, like wines that are harsh and barely palatable in their youth, they may grow into full-flavored maturity.
Spiked with unnecessarily gruesome scenes and harsh language, "Cold Case" stars a relative unknown, Kathryn Morris, as the perky and persistent Lily Rush, the ...
