Islamabad, June 29 (PPI) The National Assembly Tuesday elected President Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as Prime Minister of the country. He secured 190 votes as against his only rival Makhdoom Amin Fahim who could bag only 76 votes. He was congratulated by members of the House by thumping desks after the results of the election was announced by the Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain. The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal abstained from voting as a mark of protest against the policies of the government, particularly the operation in WANA and amendments in blasphemy law and Hudood Ordinance.
