The global expendable launch vehicle industry has roared into life this month with one successful launch and three more to go this week--on deck: a McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Division Delta 2 launch, an Ariane 4 mission and a General Dynamics Atlas Centaur mission.
As we went to press, McDonnell Douglas tentatively had rescheduled the next launch of a Delta 2 booster, carrying the 12th Navstar Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite, for yesterday between 5:29 p.m. -5:59 p.m. However, Air Force officials told SATELLITE NEWS that the weather looked marginal" for the launch.
