In specialty coffee, first comes the growing of the coffee, then the many-handed processing, exportation and finally the purchasing of the beans by the coffee-serving establishment. For Amy Lewellen-Contreras and Luis Armando Contreras, first there was the coffee farm in Honduras, then there was the Coffee Farm coffeehouse in White Bear Lake, Minn. The significance of the name of the coffeehouse comes clear when tracing the simplified route their coffee takes from picking to perking. The operation encompasses the two families of the husband and wife team, realizing more profits from the harvest by cutting out the brokers, importers and exporters.
