Article: Mining production rises 5.2% in April.

MEXICO CITY, Jun 30, 2004 (Notimex/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- In April, mining production in the country showed 5.2% growth in real terms compared to the same month of 2003, reported the National Statistics Institute (INEGI). INEGI stated that seasonally-adjusted figures showed that in April, there was a 4.6% drop in mining production compared to March.

In its report, the institute said that during April, there was increased production of gypsum, copper, sulfur, silver, gold, lead and fluorite, although there were drops in the production of coal, zinc, coke and iron, all compared to April 2003.
