This study investigated stimulus generalization to longer utterances and to trained utterances produced without a verbal model with two speakers with apraxia of speech and aphasia. It was hypothesized that if treatment resulted in improved access to or parameterization of previously acquired motor programs for specific sounds, then the improvement may be realized at different levels of production (i.e., the "treated" motor program may be accessed more efficiently in different/untreated stimulus contexts).
