The independent equity research industry is on track to nearly triple its revenues to $4.07 billion from $1.38 billion in the next four years, according to a new study-perhaps the first of its kind-from Integrity Research Associates. One reason? The independents should grab an increasing share from Wall Street firms, which face obvious problems maintaining their unprofitable research divisions.
