2004 JUL 5 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Rhode Islanders could shop for a health plan over the border in Massachusetts, under a proposal unanimously approved by the Senate on June 15, 2004.
The bill proposed by Senator James Sheehan, D-Narragansett, asks the Department of Business Regulations director to review health insurance laws and regulations in both states, and present a regionalization plan to lawmakers on or before January 1, 2005.
"This would start the dialogue to see if there is any way to synchronize our regulations," said Sheehan.
The proposal is at the exploratory stage, and there have been no discussions with Massachusetts ...
