LOS ANGELES _ The man who many actors consider one of the greatest thespians of all time, Marlon Brando, died at a Los Angeles hospital Thursday night at the age of 80.

Known for delivering some of the most memorable lines in movie history and being controversial in his private life, Brando won two Academy Awards and was nominated for six others, even thought he refused to accept them.

Brando's lawyer David J. Seeley released a statement Friday saying that the actor died in an undisclosed hospital and wouldn't release a cause of death.
