France's storage industry faces a harsh environment
The West European chemical storage business is facing important challenges in the early 1990s. A recessionary economy and a sluggish chemical industry do not provide the ideal backdrop for growth. In addition, increasingly stringent environmental requirements for bulk liquid terminals are proving a significant financial burden for a business that has a history of modest profitability.
