My initial reaction on encountering this book was one of enthusiasm, as there have been few recent studies of the Orisha and Spiritual Baptist faiths in the West Indies, and I was already familiar with Henry's work from hearing her lectures during my fieldwork in Trinidad and Tobago (she lives there five months out of the year). I am happy to say that the book did not disappoint me over all, though ...
