The selections for the 75th All-Star Game underscored the point that hot players, not good teams, are the ones to get rewarded.
The Twins are in a tie for first place in the American League Central with the White Sox. They also are the two-time defending division champions.
But only one Twins player has eye-popping numbers, and that's closer Joe Nathan, who was selected as one of five relievers. Nathan, who has seamlessly adjusted to the closer's role, has 23 saves in 24 opportunities.
