Once the Rev. Paul Marzahn decided to build a church in Lakeville, he and his wife Deb drove around the city looking for its future location.
At the intersection of Dodd Blvd. and Cedar Av., Marzahn pulled the car over and got out.
He had a vision.
"I turned to my wife and said, `This is where our church is going to be,' " he said. "All she was seeing was a cornfield."
Nine years later, that cornfield is more than 260 acres of development called the Lakeville Crossroads. At its heart stands Crossroads United Methodist Church.
The new church will hold its first service July 25.
