Jul. 8--SAN MARCOS, Calif. -- Mexican immigrants can apply for private health insurance from Blue Cross of California if they have identification cards issued by the Mexican Consulate, company officials said Wednesday.
Those carrying a Mexican Matricula Consular card, equivalent to an American Social Security card, will be able to buy health insurance from the Thousand Oaks-based company, spokesman Michael Chee said during a news conference at the North County Health Services clinic in San Marcos.
