SAN JOSE, Calif. _ For once, the U.S. Attorney's Office and Balco Laboratories owner Victor Conte Jr. are on the same side _ both want the grand-jury testimony that helped lead to Conte's indictment to remain secret.
Conte's lawyers and the federal prosecutor in charge of the case, Jeff Nedrow, are arguing against the release of grand-jury testimony to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which is seeking to ban athletes who have ties to Balco.
Nedrow could not be reached for comment Thursday.
