2004 JUL 12 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- A systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials conducted over the last 15 years shows that botulinum toxin type A (Botox) has a favorable safety and tolerability profile across a broad spectrum of indications ranging from serious and disabling neurologic conditions to cosmetic use.
Findings from the meta-analysis, the most comprehensive review of the safety of botulinum toxin type A to date, were announced at the Movement Disorder Society's 8th International Congress in Rome, Italy, by researchers from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and the University of Wuerzburg in Wuerzburg, Germany.
