Jul. 8--Wild cheering erupted from almost 200 new employees and confetti shot into the air Wednesday as U.S. Cellular launched its entrance into the Oklahoma City wireless telephone market in a ceremony at the downtown Santa Fe depot.
Gov. Brad Henry and Jack Rooney, U.S. Cellular president and chief executive officer, flipped a ceremonial switch that officially launched the wireless provider's Oklahoma City retail presence.
