Hackensack, N.J. -- The banner hung from a set of bleachers in Fairleigh Dickinson University's Rothman Center as the sounds of squeaking sneakers and bouncing balls filled the gym during the Reebok ABCD camp here this past week.
The banner listed the Most Valuable Players at the ABCD camp going back to the summer of 1992. One familiar name after another, in order, like the geological layers in the earth dating back to an ancient time.
At one end of the list were names such as Antonio McDyess, Felipe Lopez and Khalid El-Amin, all of whom went on to become stars at the college level. The more recent names showed ...
