Jul. 13--FORT WORTH, Texas -- American Airlines is trying to eliminate that desperate sprint to a connecting flight by offering a quick drive to the next flight.
The Fort Worth-based airline recently began a program at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport that identifies travelers at risk of missing their connections.
When they land, instead of heading into the terminal, airline employees escort the travelers down to the airport ramp. From there, they're hustled into a van and driven across the tarmac to their next plane. Bags are also transferred.
