COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. _ Sometimes, when Pat Durr looks at his right knee and sees the long scar along the outside of his leg and the small scar just below his knee cap, he thinks of how much he loves football.
Durr and the Northwestern Wildcats play host to Air Force Academy at 11a.m. Saturday.
His knee was ransacked in a vicious instant during an Aug. 31, 2002, game against AFA in Falcon Stadium. Air Force Academy ran an up-the-gut play to its fullback, and Durr, the middle linebacker for Northwestern, was in pursuit.
Air Force back Leotis Palmer, then a senior, crashed into Durr's right knee.
