By choosing brand-new computers, printers and networking equipment, business owners are just asking to fork over extra cash.

It may be smarter _ depending on your needs _ to purchase used or refurbished equipment to stock an office.

"Most new companies probably buy new and they just don't know," said Robert Martin, president of Source Systems Inc., which sells printers. "They go to OfficeMax or something. They just want the convenience."
