ALBANY, N.Y. _ There has been a shroud of doubt over Ron Dayne during his entire tenure with the New York Giants, and as he goes into the final year of his contract, it's still there.
A record-setting running back who won the Heisman Trophy at the University of Wisconsin, Dayne stepped into the NFL in 2000 and, despite starting only four games, rumbled for 770 yards.
