BAGHDAD _ For most of the past two months, the 20 accountants employed by Iraq's Foreign Ministry have worked at children's school desks crammed into a 12-by-15-foot closet across the hall from the burned-out ministry's bathroom.
"We had to work after the burning, so we picked up whatever we could find, and we started again," said Amin Al Mukhtar, one of the accountants, sifting through papers on his small desk. After so much time packed into the tiny room together, "we are not just colleagues. We are brothers," he said, smiling.
