Boot Camp street gang members had a standard pose for group photos: one fist outstretched with a curled trigger finger sticking out, as if they were firing a gun, a former gang member testified Tuesday in fed-eral court.
"It's the normal pose for pic- tures like this, when you bust your gun," meaning pretend to fire, former gang member Ridwan Othman testified. He was looking at one of many photos of Boot Camp activity entered into evidence on the first day of testimony in the trial of alleged gang leader Karo Brown.
Most of the photos were taken***at funerals of fellow gang members gunned down by other gangs. ...
