LOS ANGELES _ If you're going to explore female lives of not-so-quiet suburban desperation, heck, why not do it with a stylish twist of dark merriment?
And so we have ABC's "Desperate Housewives," one of the very few new fall season series that dares to be a little different.
Better still, "Desperate Housewives," which will air at 9 p.m. EDT Sundays on ABC beginning Sept. 26, has great fun putting an imaginative spin on the conventional cliches of prime time soaps. It colorfully tells the stories of a small circle of friends who live along cozy Wisteria Lane.
