AL-MADA'IN, Iraq _ More than two months after residents living near a looted Iraqi nuclear site began showing symptoms of possible radiation poisoning, no medical survey has been conducted to determine the cause of their illnesses and the health risks to the community, local health providers say.
Doctors in the area, who said they have seen a surge of patients with symptoms of possible radiation sickness such as rashes, bloody diarrhea and bloody noses, fear that residents of the impoverished villages around the site could face high risks for cancer.
