What is it about Miami that draws the scorn of national business writers? For those of us journalists who follow the business community on a daily basis, it remains a mystery, the latest capture of which appeared in the May 24 issue of Forbes magazine. According to Forbes, Miami is now ranks 139 out of 150 US cities as the best place to advance your business career. We understand that there may be more opportunities in, say, New York, or Washington, or San Diego. But, please, Hickory, North Carolina? Mobile, Alabama? Tacoma, Washington? These guys have got to be kidding. And not only did Forbes slam Miami with a low rating, it went as far as giving Miami its "booby prize" ...
