FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ A conversation between two old friends, G. Wayne Clough and Charles M. Steger, in Blacksburg, Va., on Wednesday has changed the dynamics of Atlantic Coast Conference expansion as the nine university presidents prepare to meet again either Friday or Saturday.
It's clear that Clough, Georgia Tech's president, and Steger, Virginia Tech's president, discussed expansion and what interests the Hokies might have. Beyond a discussion of interests, nothing is certain. "I was just the lowly messenger," Clough said.
