CHICAGO _ When Chicago Bears coaches marvel at the way vastly improving left guard Steve Edwards can clear a path for a running back, his mother says that's nothing compared to what he can do in the kitchen. Twice a week after practice the youngest of her two sons comes to visit at the 3-flat apartment building she runs in Beverly and often ends up either mopping the floors or taking out the garbage.
"He cleans up, and we don't treat him any differently here,'' Mary Edwards said. "He's still the same Steve to us.''
That also means Edwards bears the same responsibilities again for Thanksgiving dinner. Carrying out the family ...
