FORT WORTH, Texas, July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines has been honored by Airline Business magazine for the de-peaking of the airline's hubs at Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami.
The hub restructuring, which evens out the flow of flights to improve efficiency and enhance customer service, earned American the magazine's 2004 Airline Strategy Award in Operations. The award was presented in historic Middle Temple Hall in London last night and was accepted by Walter J. Aue, American's Vice President-Capacity Planning, who directed the de-peaking initiative as part of the carrier's larger Turnaround Plan.
