OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. _ It was back at Rucker Park in Harlem that a skinny kid named Julius Hodge learned a lesson that should serve him well in North Carolina State's first-round NCAA Tournament game against Cal on Thursday at the Ford Center.
Hodge, the Wolfpack's star wing and leading scorer and rebounder, would spend hours playing against bigger, stronger, older men. Men who wanted to push him around. Men who didn't worry about a referee calling fouls.
"I learned in those games that it's not your size physically," he said. "It is the size of your heart. If you want the ball, you need to go get it."
