ORLANDO, Fla. _ The Family and Medical Leave Act turns 10 this summer. Despite initial warnings it would hurt businesses' bottom line, the federal law has proved a big success among employees and companies.
About two-thirds of businesses find the law _ known by its acronym, FMLA _ easy to administer. "And an even larger majority of establishments are reporting that the FMLA has had no adverse effects on their business or their employees," according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
