I got into this debate with a couple of friends the other day over the floppy disk _ yes, that floppy disk.
They were outraged that the floppy drive is fast becoming an option _ not standard _ on PCs.
What did I know about this? Was this part of some computer conspiracy to get more money out of us? Or is it just some crazy Internet rumor?
The floppy disk can't be dead, they said, with disbelief if their eyes.
Technically, the floppy isn't dead. People still have content on their floppies. They need those floppy drives.
But I won't criticize the attempt to do away with the floppy. It's time for the floppy disk to retire to the history ...
