JERUSALEM _ Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat said Friday that he would appoint a prime minister, accepting a key element of reform of his Palestinian Authority that had been demanded by the United States and the European Union.
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and President Bush have refused to deal with Arafat, accusing him of involvement in terrorism, and they have called for his replacement.
