Applications are being accepted for an around-the-world scavenger hunt.
GreatEscape2003: The Global Scavenger Hunt will begin April 25 in Los Angeles and head west, not east, to New York City where it will end on May 18.
The 25 teams of two will be off on a three-week adventure to four continents and 10 countries.
The second annual event, created for independent travelers, requires participants to earn points by completing a series of culturally oriented searches. Teams must use only public transportation while following clues. It is designed to be more of a rally than a flat-out race.
