CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. _ After a violent 8 {-minute ride into space, shuttle astronauts unbuckle their seat belts and float, blissfully free from the clutches of gravity.
Immediately, however, the work begins for at least one crewmember aboard every NASA mission. On shuttle Columbia, astronaut David Brown was given the job of videotaping the external tank as it separated from the spaceship and plummeted toward Earth.
