Dec. 18--MONCKS CORNER, S.C.--Signs of the recovering economy are stirring in Berkeley County.
Officials hope a tax incentive agreement that the County Council passed this week will help lure an unnamed high-technology company that would invest $60 million and create 60 jobs.
The county approved a resolution offering the company, code-named Project 19, a 6 percent property tax assessment rate instead of the standard 10.5 percent rate.
