Dec. 18--The Central American Free Trade Agreement signed Wednesday could become a heated debate when Congress returns to session in January.
"I can't imagine how this will be a good thing for the textile industry," said U.S. Rep. Mel Watt, D-12th. "There's no effective enforcement mechanism to stop the parties in these trade agreements from becoming transshipment points."
Though full details of the entire agreement won't be published until January, preliminary information is raising eyebrows.
