Dec. 23--TUALATIN, Ore.--The city's downtown has moved at least four times during the city's evolution from 19th-century wagon stop to sleepy 1970s bedroom community to full-fledged suburban powerhouse.
Now, some say it's about to move again, this time to Bridgeport Village -- a privately built "lifestyle" center nearly a mile from the city's current focal point, Tualatin Commons.
"Clearly, we expect something as significant as Bridgeport Village to bring a lot of traffic and a lot of shoppers to the city," Tualatin Mayor Lou Ogden said. "It will be by far the biggest stand-alone retail and commercial magnet we have."
